He quickly ran home,looking as if there was something wrong with him.

他快步跑回家,看上去好像有什么事不對(duì)勁。

It looks as if it is going to rain.

看上去要下雨了。

【句式拓展】(1)如果所引導(dǎo)的從句表示的是真實(shí)的或極有可能發(fā)生的情況時(shí),句子要用陳述語(yǔ)氣。

It sounds as if he has already known my secret.

聽(tīng)起來(lái)他好像已經(jīng)知道我的秘密了。

(2)如果所引導(dǎo)的從句只是表示一種假設(shè)的情況,從句的謂語(yǔ)動(dòng)詞要用虛擬語(yǔ)氣,其形式如下:

She treated her adopted son as if he were her own child.

她對(duì)待養(yǎng)子好像他是自己的孩子一樣。

The girl listened as if she had been turned into a stone.

那女孩傾聽(tīng)著,像已經(jīng)變成了石頭似的。

過(guò)去分詞作表語(yǔ)和狀語(yǔ)

一、過(guò)去分詞作表語(yǔ)

1.用法

過(guò)去分詞作表語(yǔ)表示主語(yǔ)所處狀態(tài)或主觀心理感受,相當(dāng)于形容詞的作用。

They all felt challenged.他們都感覺(jué)受到了挑戰(zhàn)。

Mr Brown and Mary are married.布朗先生和瑪麗結(jié)婚了。

Tom was disappointed to hear his friend was unable to come.

湯姆聽(tīng)到他的朋友不能來(lái)很失望。

The window of my room is broken.

我房間的窗戶是壞的。

注意: 表示感覺(jué)的一些過(guò)去分詞 (surprised,disappointed,excited,pleased 等 ) 及其他一些過(guò)去分詞(dressed,drunk,devoted,lost,known,married,bent,recovered,separated 等)?捎米鞅碚Z(yǔ),表示狀態(tài)。其中有些只表狀態(tài),毫無(wú)被動(dòng)意義。

2.過(guò)去分詞作表語(yǔ)與被動(dòng)語(yǔ)態(tài)的區(qū)別

(1)被動(dòng)語(yǔ)態(tài)強(qiáng)調(diào)動(dòng)作,主語(yǔ)是動(dòng)作承受者;過(guò)去分詞作表語(yǔ)說(shuō)明主語(yǔ)的狀態(tài)或特征。

The novel was written about ten years ago.

這本小說(shuō)是大約10年前寫(xiě)的。

The novel is well written.

這本小說(shuō)寫(xiě)得很好。

(2)被動(dòng)語(yǔ)態(tài)后常接by短語(yǔ),表示動(dòng)作的執(zhí)行者;而過(guò)去分詞作表語(yǔ)后不接by短語(yǔ),但可以接其他的介詞,表示特征。

The small town is surrounded with hills on three sides.

那個(gè)小城鎮(zhèn)三面環(huán)山。

He was frightened because he was surrounded by a lot of dogs.

他很害怕,因?yàn)樗灰蝗汗穱?/p>

二、過(guò)去分詞作狀語(yǔ)

1.過(guò)去分詞作狀語(yǔ)時(shí)的意義

過(guò)去分詞(短語(yǔ))作狀語(yǔ),說(shuō)明謂語(yǔ)動(dòng)詞的動(dòng)作和狀態(tài),其邏輯賓語(yǔ)是句子的主語(yǔ),也就是說(shuō)過(guò)去分詞與句子的主語(yǔ)之間是被動(dòng)關(guān)系。

Seen from the building,the garden looks beautiful.(see的邏輯賓語(yǔ)是garden)

從樓上看,這個(gè)花園很美麗。

2.過(guò)去分詞作狀語(yǔ)時(shí)的作用

由于過(guò)去分詞(短語(yǔ))具有副詞的某些特征,因此在句中可以作時(shí)間、條件、原因、讓步、伴隨或結(jié)果等狀語(yǔ)。

(1)時(shí)間狀語(yǔ)

Asked why he was absent from class,the little boy lied that he was ill.

當(dāng)被問(wèn)到他為什么沒(méi)有上課時(shí),那個(gè)小男孩撒謊說(shuō)他病了。

Questioned by the police,Mr Brown was at a loss what to do.

警察詢問(wèn)布朗先生時(shí),他不知所措。

(2)條件狀語(yǔ)

Given enough water,the newly-planted trees wouldn’t have died.

澆足水,這些新栽的樹(shù)就不會(huì)死了。

Compared with his brother,Tom seems more diligent.

與他弟弟相比,湯姆好像更勤奮。

(3)原因狀語(yǔ)

Frightened by the terrible noise,Mary didn’t dare to go out alone at night.

受到可怕聲音的驚嚇,瑪麗晚上不敢獨(dú)自外出。

Encouraged by the progress he has made,he works harder.

受到所取得成績(jī)的鼓舞,他工作更努力了。
