1.Science is so interesting! 

◆so為副詞,意為“這樣,如此”,用于修飾形容詞或副詞的原級(jí),表示程度。常見用法如下:

(1)“so+形容詞+a/an+單數(shù)名詞”相當(dāng)于“such a/an+形容詞+單數(shù)名詞”。

(2)so后可接many,much,few和little來(lái)表示名詞的數(shù)量。

(3)so…that…意為“如此……以至于……”,構(gòu)成結(jié)果狀語(yǔ)從句。

◆interesting為形容詞,意為“有趣的”,表示事物本身含有令人感興趣的因素,可作表語(yǔ)或定語(yǔ),用于說(shuō)明物。

【拓展】interested也為形容詞,意為“感興趣的”,表示人對(duì)物的感受,在句中可作表語(yǔ),常用于固定短語(yǔ)be/get interested in“對(duì)……感興趣”。

2.Fill the dish half full with water. 

half full with water為形容詞短語(yǔ),在句中作狀語(yǔ),表伴隨狀態(tài)。

3.Light the candle. 

light為動(dòng)詞,意為“點(diǎn)燃”,可構(gòu)成短語(yǔ)light up“點(diǎn)(煙),照亮”,賓語(yǔ)為代詞時(shí),應(yīng)放在light與up之間。light的過(guò)去式和過(guò)去分詞為lighted/lit,lighted/lit。

【拓展】(1)light作名詞時(shí),意為“燈,光”。

(2)light作形容詞時(shí),意為“輕的,淺的”。

4.Carefully put the jar over the candle until the top of the jar rests on the dish. 

carefully為副詞,意為“細(xì)心地,認(rèn)真地”,其形容詞形式為careful,意為“小心的”。care可用作動(dòng)詞,意為“關(guān)心”,也可用作名詞,意為“照顧”。

5.When the candle stops burning,it has used up all the oxygen in the air. 

use up意為“用完,用光”,為“動(dòng)詞+副詞”構(gòu)成的短語(yǔ)。這類短語(yǔ)用名詞作賓語(yǔ)時(shí),名詞可用在副詞前,也可放在副詞后;用代詞作賓語(yǔ)時(shí),代詞則必須放在副詞前,該短語(yǔ)相當(dāng)于run out of…,可用于被動(dòng)語(yǔ)態(tài)。
