Language points
1.The supermarket is between the flower store and the bookstore. 超市在花店和書店之間。
between…and ...意為“在……和……之間”,指在兩者之間,連接名詞或代詞。
►She lives between the school and the drugstore.她住在學(xué)校與藥店之間。
between:在兩者之間 among:在三者或三者以上之間
►Don’t eat between meals. 正餐之間不要吃東西。
►He sat among the children. 他坐在孩子們中間。
2. Go past the bookstore. 經(jīng)過書店。
go past = pass 意為“經(jīng)過;路過”。其中 past為介詞,意為“從……旁邊過去”。
►Go past our school. = Pass our school. 經(jīng)過我們學(xué)校。
►The bus went past us without stopping at the bus stop.
公共汽車沒在站點(diǎn)停留就從我們旁邊過去了。
past用作介詞時還表示“(時間)在……后;晚于”。
►It’s five past six now. 現(xiàn)在是 6 點(diǎn) 5 分。
►The man walked past a shop. 這個人走過一家商店。

4. Pardon? 請?jiān)僬f一遍好嗎?
pardon此處為感嘆詞,意為“再說一遍;抱歉,對不起”。此處表示沒聽清或不理解對方的話,希望對方再重復(fù)一遍,讀時用升調(diào),相當(dāng)于“Beg your pardon?” 或 “ I beg your pardon?” pardon還可用于做錯事道歉時,讀時用降調(diào);要表明自己與對方有不同的見解,可能引起對方不快時,用降調(diào)。
►I do beg your pardon. 請您一定要原諒我。
pardon用作及物動詞意為“寬恕;原諒”,后接名詞代詞動詞-ing形式作賓語,也可接雙賓語常用結(jié)構(gòu):
pardon sb. for (doing) sth. “原諒某人做某事”
►We must pardon him for his fault.
我們一定要原諒他的過失。
►Please pardon me for not having answered your letter.
沒有給您回信,請你原諒。
5.You don’t need to rush! 你不需要著急!
rush此處用作動詞,意為“倉促;急促”。常用短語:
rush to do sth. 意為“趕緊/搶著做某事”;
rush to…意為“沖/奔向……”。
►She’s always rushing to finish her homework first.
她總是趕著第一個完成作業(yè)。
►He stood up and rushed to the door. 他站起來向門口沖去。
