賓語(yǔ)從句三要素：連接詞、語(yǔ)序、時(shí)態(tài)
賓語(yǔ)從句的連接詞
1. 連詞that，起連接作用，在從句中不作句子成分，也無(wú)詞匯意義，在口語(yǔ)中常被省略。
He knew (that) he should work hard.
2. 連詞if/whether，起連接作用，在從句中不充當(dāng)任何句子成分，意為“是否”，不能省略，在口語(yǔ)中多用if。
Tom don’t know if/whether his grandpa liked the present.
He asked me whether I was coming or not.
一般情況下，if和whether可以互換，但以下3種情況只能用whether：
① 在不定式前
Whether to go there or not hasn’t been decided.
② 在介詞后
It depends on whether it is going to rain.
③ 與or not連用
They are talking about whether to go there or not.
3. 疑問(wèn)詞在句中既起連接作用，作句子成分，又有實(shí)際意義：
連接代詞：who, whom, whose, what, which
連接副詞：when, where, why, how
who在從句中作主語(yǔ)、表語(yǔ)；
whom在從句中作賓語(yǔ)；
whose在從句中作定語(yǔ)；
what和which在從句中作主語(yǔ)、賓語(yǔ)、表語(yǔ)或定語(yǔ)；
when, where, why, how在從句中分別作時(shí)間狀語(yǔ)、地點(diǎn)狀語(yǔ)、原因狀語(yǔ)和方式狀語(yǔ)。
人稱(chēng)和時(shí)態(tài)變化
1. 陳述句變?yōu)橘e語(yǔ)從句時(shí)，要注意人稱(chēng)和時(shí)態(tài)的變化，語(yǔ)序不變。
She said, “I will leave a message on the desk.”
→ She said she would leave a message on the desk.
2. 一般疑問(wèn)句和特殊疑問(wèn)句變?yōu)橘e語(yǔ)從句時(shí)，也要注意人稱(chēng)和時(shí)態(tài)的變化，后接陳述語(yǔ)序。
“Where are the tickets?” I asked him.
→ I asked him where the tickets were.
