并列復(fù)合句
1. 并列復(fù)合句的定義：
由并列連詞and, but, or等把兩個(gè)或兩個(gè)以上的簡(jiǎn)單句連在一起而構(gòu)成的句子。
Jane has kept the book for three days and she must return it tomorrow.
The boy fell off the bike, but he didn’t hurt.
2. 并列復(fù)合句的構(gòu)成：
并列復(fù)合句的基本結(jié)構(gòu)是：簡(jiǎn)單句+并列連詞+簡(jiǎn)單句
I help him and he helps me.
You must put on your coat, or you’ll have a bad cold in such a cold day.
3. 并列連詞前后簡(jiǎn)單句之間的關(guān)系：
(1) 并列關(guān)系。
翻譯：他們?cè)诳措娨暎渌嗽诼?tīng)廣播。
They are watching TV, and the others are listening to the radio.
(2) 選擇關(guān)系。
翻譯：他們可以跟我們走，也可以待在家里。
They can go with us, or they can stay at home.
(3) 轉(zhuǎn)折關(guān)系。
翻譯：他感到疲憊，但是他沒(méi)有停止工作。
He was tired, but he did not stop working.
4. 注意事項(xiàng)：
(1) 并列復(fù)合句有時(shí)可不用連詞，而用分號(hào)隔開(kāi)（前后句之間的關(guān)系須相當(dāng)緊密）。
翻譯：我們釣了一天魚；我們一條魚都沒(méi)有釣到。
We fished all day; we did not catch a single fish.
(2) 并列連詞后的簡(jiǎn)單句如果與其前的簡(jiǎn)單句有相同的部分，則相同的部分�？墒÷浴�
翻譯：史努比生活在自己的世界里，發(fā)現(xiàn)現(xiàn)實(shí)生活難以理解。
Snoopy lives in his own world and (Snoopy) finds real life hard to understand.

Student A: Say a sentence about travel.
New York is a long way from Beijing.
Student B: Add to Student A’s sentence with another sentence beginning with but.
But London is closer.
Student A: Add to Student B’s sentence with another sentence beginning with but.
But the weather isn’t as good as that in New York.
