1. We used to study and play together, but ever since last Friday, she hasn’t spoken to me. 

我們過去常常一起學(xué)習(xí)、玩耍,但自從上周五以來,她沒跟我說過話。

(1) used to do sth. 表示“過去常常做某事”。

e.g. We used to work in the same workshop.

我們過去在同一個(gè)車間工作。

be used to doing sth. 是習(xí)語,意思是“習(xí)慣于做某事”,used可用quite修飾。如果強(qiáng)調(diào)由不習(xí)慣到習(xí)慣這一過程,常用get或become代替be。

e.g. Perhaps he is used to taking his time.

或許不慌不忙早已成了他的習(xí)慣。

He has got quite used to staying up late.

他已經(jīng)習(xí)慣熬夜了。

be used to do sth. 為use的被動結(jié)構(gòu),意思是“被用來做……”。

e.g. Wood can be used to make chairs and desks.

木頭可以(被)用來做桌椅。

(2) ever since意為“從……開始”,可以引導(dǎo)時(shí)間狀語從句,主句常用現(xiàn)在完成時(shí),并且主句的謂語動詞要用延續(xù)性動詞,從句用一般過去時(shí)。 

e.g. Ever since he left for Canada last year, I haven’t seen him again.

自從他去年去了加拿大以來,我沒再見到過他。

ever since也可放在句末,意為“此后(就一直……)”。

e.g. The old man went to Beijing in 1949 and has lived there ever since.

這位老人1949年去了北京,此后他就一直住在那兒。

2. I considered all the things that could be wrong, but I still can’t figure out what the problem is.   

我細(xì)想了可能做錯的所有事情,但還是弄不清楚問題是什么。

consider意為“考慮”。

【基本用法】

(1) consider sth. 表示“考慮某事”。

e.g. I will consider your plan carefully.

我會仔細(xì)考慮你的計(jì)劃。

(2) consider doing sth. 表示“考慮做某事”。

e.g. Have you considered buying a car?

你考慮買一輛車嗎?

(3) 跟從句。

e.g. The teacher considered how she should answer.這個(gè)老師考慮她要怎么回答。

(4) 跟“疑問詞 + 動詞不定式”結(jié)構(gòu)。     

e.g. The woman hasn’t considered what to do next.這位婦女還沒有考慮考慮接下來該做什么 。
