at the age of…在……歲時,of后接數字,表示年齡,常與when引導的時間狀語從句互換。

2. When she was nineteen months old, Helen fell ill. 海倫在19個月大的時候生病了。
fall ill/sick生病,表示短暫動作。跟表示一段時間的狀語連用時,應用be ill/sick.
The boy has been ill for a week. 這個男孩病了一周了。
3. As Helen grew older, she made a lot of progress and learned to read. 隨著年齡的增長,海倫進步很大,并學會了閱讀。
make progress取得進步,progress為不可數名詞。
