1.It must be large enough to hold the roots of the seeding. 它必須足夠大以容納的種子根。
must是情態(tài)動(dòng)詞，意為“必須；肯定”。用在肯定句中表示較有把握的推測。對(duì)現(xiàn)在的狀態(tài)或現(xiàn)在正發(fā)生的事情的推測時(shí)，must后面通常接系動(dòng)詞be 的原形或行為動(dòng)詞的進(jìn)行式。如：
You have worked hard all day. You must be tired. 你辛苦干一整天，一定累了。
2. Now, put the seedling inside, cover the roots and fill the hole with dirt. 現(xiàn)在，把幼苗放進(jìn)來，蓋上根，用泥土填上坑。
fill作動(dòng)詞，常用動(dòng)詞詞組fill… with…意為“用……把……裝滿”，被動(dòng)形式： be filled with意為“裝/填滿”，相當(dāng)于be full of，full是形容詞，意為“裝滿；充滿”。如：
He filled his backpack with books. 他把書裝進(jìn)書包。
3. I suppose tree planting is very important work. 我想，植樹造林是非常重要的工作 。
suppose是及物動(dòng)詞，常用來表示說話人的看法、猜測或假設(shè)。其基本用法如下：
(1)“suppose＋名詞/代詞＋介詞短語”表示“猜測某人/某物在……”。如：
He supposed his friend in the library. 他猜想他的朋友在圖書館里。
(2) be supposed to中的to是動(dòng)詞不定式符號(hào)，后接動(dòng)詞原形，主語為人時(shí)，表示“應(yīng)該；被期望”，它可以用來表示勸告、建議、義務(wù)、責(zé)任等。主語為物時(shí)，它表示“本應(yīng)；本該”，用于表示某事本應(yīng)該發(fā)生而沒有發(fā)生。它還可以用來表示“被認(rèn)為是；被相信是”。如：
