1.notice sb.do sth. 注意到某人做某事
notice doing sth. 注意到某人正在做某事
Did you notice Jack come in?你注意到杰克進(jìn)來了嗎？
Did you notice his hand shaking?你有沒有注意到他的手在抖？
2.fail n．& v．失��；不及格
常用結(jié)構(gòu)fail to do sth．意為“沒有做成某事”。
He failed to get into art college．
（作動(dòng)詞）他未能進(jìn)入藝術(shù)學(xué)院。
The cake we made was a fail.
（作名詞）我們做的蛋糕不成功。
3.give up放棄
give up為動(dòng)副短語，后接名詞、代詞或動(dòng)名詞作賓語；當(dāng)賓語為代詞時(shí)，代詞要放在短語中間。
Tom isn't good at maths, but he won't give it up．
湯姆數(shù)學(xué)不太好，但他不會(huì)放棄。
4.辨析：accept與receive
receive僅表示“收到”，接不接受是另一回事；而accept則表示確切地“接受”。
I received an invitation to the party yesterday, but I refused to accept it．
昨天我接到一份參加晚會(huì)的邀請(qǐng)，但我拒絕了。
