Objectives:

Observe the following sentences.
1. What a beautiful city!
2. Do you like traditional Western music or pop music?
3. Is this by Strauss or Mozart?
4. Listen to those drums!
5. It’s so beautiful!
6. Is it by the father or the son?
7. What nice weather!
8. Shall we go home or stay here?
9. Now I understand!
10. How carefully she is writing!

Look at the following sentences.
--- Is this by Strauss or Mozart?
--- It’s by Strauss.
--- Do you like traditional Western music or pop music?
--- Well, I like both.
在問題中提供兩個或兩個以上可選答案的問句叫選擇疑問句。
選擇疑問句中or所連接的可以是不同的內(nèi)容,如兩個名詞(the father or the son)、兩個動詞 (call or email)、兩個介詞短語 (by bus or by car)、專有名詞 (Mozart or Strauss)等。
在口語中,選擇疑問句的語調(diào)應是第一個選擇項讀升調(diào)、第二個選擇項讀降調(diào)。

你想喝咖啡、茶還是蘇打水?
Should I call or email you?
我應該給你打電話還是發(fā)電子郵件?
Did you come here by bus or by car?

感嘆句
當我們想表達一種較為強烈的感情,如喜悅、贊嘆、驚異、憤怒、厭惡等。讀時一般用降調(diào)。
仔細觀察這三句話:
It’s so beautiful!
I love his music!
What a beautiful city!
我們發(fā)現(xiàn)這些句子大致分為兩類。
第一類:
It’s so beautiful!
I love his music!
That’s my favourite song!
這類感嘆句在句式上與陳述句沒有任何區(qū)別,只是將句號變成了感嘆號,語氣變得更強烈而已。
這一類句子在書面語中我們用感嘆號表達感嘆的語氣,在口語中則是通過說話的語氣來表達強烈的情感。

第二類:兩大句型
1. What +(a / an) +形容詞+名詞+(主語+ 謂語)!
這是以名詞為中心詞,以what作限定詞的感嘆句的基本結(jié)構(gòu)。
①中心詞為單數(shù)可數(shù)名詞,其前有冠詞。如:What a clever boy (he is)!
②中心詞為不可數(shù)名詞,其前無冠詞。如:What fine weather (it is)!
③中心詞為復數(shù)名詞,其前無冠詞。如:What beautiful flowers (they are)!
2. How +形容詞 / 副詞+(主語+ 謂語)!
這是以形容詞為中心詞,以how作形容詞或副詞修飾語的感嘆句的基本結(jié)構(gòu)。如:
How kind you are!
How fast he runs!

Summary
1. 選擇疑問句:由or連接兩個或兩個以上并列的內(nèi)容
2.感嘆句是表示喜怒哀樂等強烈感情的句子 ,常用句式:
普通陳述句(加強語氣)
What + (a / an) + 形容詞+ 名詞+ (主語+ 謂語)!
How + 形容詞 / 副詞+ (主語+ 謂語)!
