on a vacation =on vacation 在度假， 美國(guó)英語習(xí)慣用語。
summer vacation 暑假 winter vacation 寒假
holiday “假期”，英國(guó)英語常用的詞匯，一般是幾天的休息， 如各種節(jié)日或休假日。如：
on holidays summer holidays/vocation 暑假
2. I want to call you but my phone isn’t working, so I’m writing to you.
我想給你打電話，但是我的電話壞了，所以我寫明信片給你。
（1）這里的 work 用來表示儀器、設(shè)備的“運(yùn)行、工作”若是用于否定結(jié)構(gòu)如 isn’t working，則表示某一件物品“不工作了”或“壞掉了”。如:
The bike isn’t working now.
自行車現(xiàn)在壞了。
（2）write to 表示“寫信給某人”。如：
My friend , Tom, often writes to me.
我的朋友Tom經(jīng)常寫信給我。
3. It’s hot in your country now, isn’t it?
你們的國(guó)家現(xiàn)在很熱，對(duì)嗎？
這種句子，在陳述句后面加一個(gè)簡(jiǎn)短的問句，用來對(duì)陳述部分內(nèi)容進(jìn)行確認(rèn)，稱為反意疑問句。
例如：
It's very hot today, isn’t it ?
今天天氣很熱，是不是？
回答用：Yes, it is.是的，很熱。
