Language points
1. His dad and uncle are watching the boat races on TV.他的爸爸和叔叔正在看電視上的龍舟比賽。
race 用于體育話題時，主要指賽車、賽跑、游泳等與速度相關的比賽，而game 多指與球類、棋類相關的比賽。如：
Tom likes to watch NBA game on TV .
Tom 喜歡看電視上的NBA比賽。
2. so it’s like any other night for Zhu Hui and his host family.
any other night 意為 “任何一個其他的夜晚”
這里的 any 表示“任何一個/任意一個”
any other… 表示“任何別的……；任何其他的……”
如：Any other student in the class can play with you.
班里的任何一個同學都可以和你玩。
3. miss v. 意為“思念；想念”
How’s it going? I miss you very much. 你那里還好嗎？我很想念你們。
【注意】miss的第三人稱單數(shù)形式為： misses
e.g. The little girl misses her grandma very much. 小女孩很想念她的奶奶。
【拓展】 miss還有“錯過，沒趕上”之意。
e.g. Get up quickly, or you will miss the bus.
趕快起床，否則你會趕不上公共汽車。
4. wish v. 意為“希望”；常用結構：wish to do sth. 或wish sb. to do sth.
e.g. I wish to meet my uncle there.
我希望在那里能見到我的叔叔。
5. …but there’s still “no place like home”. 但是“千好萬好還是不如自己的家好”。（金窩銀窩不如自己的狗窩。）
還有一句諺語：East, west, home is best.
