1. handsome adj. 英俊的
handsome多用于形容男子“英俊的;有魅力的”。也可用來形容女子“健美的”。handsome 的比較級(jí)和最高級(jí)可以是在詞尾加-er或-est構(gòu)成,但更為常見的是:more handsome 和 most handsome。
eg: He’s the most handsome man I’ve ever met.
他是我見過的最俊美的男子。
My sister likes to play basketball, so she is tall and handsome.
我姐姐喜歡打籃球,所以長得高大健美。
【辨析】
(1) beautiful尤指女子或女孩“漂亮的;美麗的”;
(2) pretty也多指女子或女孩“漂亮的;俊俏的”。
beautiful, handsome和pretty的反義詞都為ugly,意為“丑陋的”。
eg: The lady looked very beautiful in red.
那位女士穿紅色的衣服看起來很漂亮。
She’s got a very pretty face.
她有一張非常俏麗的臉。
2. smart adj. 聰明的;機(jī)靈的
smart 的近義詞是 clever,反義詞是 stupid。
eg: He is smart about business.
他做生意很精明。
3. humorous adj. 幽默的;滑稽的
humorous指“富有幽默感、詼諧、引人發(fā)笑的”,humor是其名詞形式。其近義詞funny指“因古怪、奇特或不合時(shí)宜的舉動(dòng)等令人發(fā)笑的”。
eg: Our English teacher is very humorous.
我們的英語老師很幽默。
I have lots of humorous stories.
我有許多幽默的故事。
4. fight (fought, fought) v. 與…… 戰(zhàn)斗 n. 戰(zhàn)斗;斗爭
eg: What are the boys fighting about?
這些男孩們?yōu)槭裁创蚣埽?/p>
Their fight were always about money.
他們總是為了錢而爭斗。
5. hero n. 英雄;男主角
其復(fù)數(shù)形式是heroes。與hero相對應(yīng)的是heroine,意思是“女英雄;女主角”。
eg: Dr Norman Bethune is always the hero in my heart.
白求恩大夫一直是我心目中的英雄。
The hero of this novel is a poor man.
這部小說的男主角是個(gè)窮人。
6. laugh v. 笑;發(fā)笑
laugh用作動(dòng)詞時(shí),是不及物動(dòng)詞,意思是“笑,感到好笑”,常用于短語“laugh at sb.”,意為“嘲笑某人”。
eg: Don’t laugh at a person who is in trouble.
不要嘲笑陷入困境中的人。

1. We’ve finished our homework. It’s time to watch a cartoon.
我們已經(jīng)完成了的家庭作業(yè),該看動(dòng)畫片了。
It’s time +(for sb.) to do sth. ,表示“該是(某人)做……的時(shí)候了”。
It’s time for you to clean the classroom. 該是你打掃教室的時(shí)候了。
【拓展】
It’s time for+名詞,也表示“該是 (做) ……的時(shí)候了”。
Boys and girls, it’s time for class. 同學(xué)們,該上課了。
2. I don’t think we agree.
我認(rèn)為我們意見不統(tǒng)一。
本句是否定轉(zhuǎn)移的用法。
首先,要知道:think后邊的we agree是一個(gè)賓語從句;
其次,要了解:當(dāng)動(dòng)詞think, believe, suppose的主語是第一人稱、謂語動(dòng)詞沒有任何副詞修飾,且使用一般現(xiàn)在時(shí)時(shí),它們的否定式實(shí)際上是對其后賓語從句的否定,表示說話者提出一種委婉的看法或主張。
這種“形式上否定主句謂語,實(shí)際上否定從句謂語”的語法現(xiàn)象就叫作“否定轉(zhuǎn)移”。
I don’t think he will help us.
我認(rèn)為他不會(huì)幫助我們。
I don’t believe that he is right.
我認(rèn)為他不對。
I don’t suppose that he likes it.
我想他不喜歡它。
3. I can’t help laughing when I watch them!
當(dāng)我看他們的時(shí)候我會(huì)忍不住大笑!
can’t help doing sth. 是固定短語,意為“忍不住做某事,情不自禁做某事”。
He couldn’t help crying when he heard the bad news.
當(dāng)他聽到這個(gè)不好的消息時(shí)禁不住哭了。
