1. lend 借出,把某物借給某人
lend sth. to sb.= lend sb. sth. 把某物借給某人
borrow 借入
borrow sth. from sb./sp.從某人或某處借某物
Can you lend your pen to me ?
May I borrow books from you ?
注意:keep“借”,是延續(xù)性動詞, 通常表示“借某物多長時間”, 多接表示一段時間的短語或
與疑問短語how long連用。例如:
—How long have you kept this novel?
—About two weeks.
2. put up掛; 張貼
(1)是由“動詞+副詞”構(gòu)成的短語, 代詞作賓語時, 放于動詞和副詞之間; 名詞作賓語時, 放在中間或后面均可。
(2)由put構(gòu)成的常用短語:
3. thousands of好幾千; 成千上萬
(1)thousands of表示一個不確定的數(shù)目, 前面不跟具體數(shù)字, 后面跟復(fù)數(shù)名詞。
(2)如果前面有具體數(shù)字修飾時,則thousand不加-s, 不能與of連用。例如: two thousand trees 2 000棵樹。
另外:hundred, million, billion等數(shù)詞與thousand的用法相同。
