既指整個(gè)家庭，也指家人。當(dāng)family 指家人時(shí)，謂語動(dòng)詞描述家人的活動(dòng)或狀況，常用復(fù)數(shù)。當(dāng)family 指家庭概念時(shí)，謂語動(dòng)詞描述家庭整體情況，常用單數(shù)。
e.g. My family are all friendly.
His family is big.
Those are my parents.
那是我的父母。
those 那些
that為其單數(shù)形式；
它是指空間或時(shí)間上較遠(yuǎn)的人或事物。
parents 意為“父母親”，等于father and mother；
parent 父親或母親，等于father or mother；
parents是parent的復(fù)數(shù)形式。
