客人到達(dá)前,把家里整理好。
tide up “使整潔,使整齊”。
e.g. It is a good habit to tidy up the bedroom after getting up.
起床后整理好臥室是好習(xí)慣。
tidy away “收拾起來”。
e.g. Tidy away the toys if you don’t play with them.

2. Offer your guest something to drink or eat like tea, fruit and snacks.

offer v.“(主動)給予;提供;出示”,后可以跟賓語或雙賓語,能用不定式作賓語,不能用動詞-ing形式作賓語。

offer和provide
offer和provide都有“提供”的意思,但有所區(qū)別。
◆offer通常用來表示主動提供某物,常用于
offer sb. sth. 或 offer sth. to sb. 結(jié)構(gòu)中。
e.g. Can you offer me something to drink?
你能給我一些喝的嗎?
We should offer seats to the old on the bus.
我們在公交車上應(yīng)該給老人讓座。

表語從句
用一個句子作為表語,說明主語是什么或者怎么樣,和系動詞一起構(gòu)成謂語。需要注意:
1. 表語從句一定要用陳述語序。
e.g. This is why he failed the exam.

2. 主句時態(tài)和從句時態(tài)可以不一致。
e.g. This is what he told us at the party.
這是他在聚會上告訴我的。
3. 引導(dǎo)詞是that時,that不能省略。
e.g. The trouble is that we are short of money.
