1. At the beginning, I was afraid to try writing a poem. 起初，我不敢嘗試寫詩。
at the beginning起初，開始，相當(dāng)于at first。at the beginning of意為“在……的開始”，后跟名詞或代詞。
At the beginning of the class, Mr. Lin sang a song. 在這節(jié)課的開始，林先生唱了一首歌。
2. so… that …如此……以至……，引導(dǎo)結(jié)果狀語從句，that從句中常加情態(tài)動詞。例如：
The TV set costs so much that I can’t buy it.
這臺電視機(jī)花這么多錢以至于我買不起。
另外，so…that…還可以引導(dǎo)目的狀語從句，“以便”。例如：
He got up so early so that he could catch the early bus. 他很早起床以便趕早班車。
so…that引導(dǎo)結(jié)果狀語從句時有時可以用 “too…to…”及“enough”來改寫。例如：
He is so young that he can’t go to work.
He is too young to go to work.
The boy is so strong that he can lift the heavy box.
The boy is strong enough to life the heavy box.
