(1)refuse指由于不情愿或不愿意而對某項要求或事物給予否定的回答或不接受某物或不肯做某事, 可用作及物動詞, 也可用作不及物動詞。

be afraid of表示擔心某事或某種情況, 也可表示缺乏勇氣或擔心后果而不敢做某事, of是介詞, 后接名詞、代詞或動名詞形式。
3. I had no choice but to go with her. 除了和她去之外，我別無選擇。
choice 名詞“選擇；機會”， 其動詞形式choose。
but “除……之外”， 后接動詞不定式。
e.g. We have no choice but to stay at home because of the heavy rain. 因為大雨， 我們沒有別的選擇，只能待在家里。
