1. What is it for ?
“What…for?”是在不理解對(duì)方的動(dòng)機(jī)或詢(xún)問(wèn)對(duì)方的目的和用意時(shí)的常用語(yǔ)，相當(dāng)于“Why”,意為“為何目的，為何理由”，常用because引導(dǎo)的句子作答。
eg:1).---What do you want a knife for?
---To cut the apples.
2)---Why do you want a knife?
---Because I want to cut the apple.
2. I’m afraid I can’t afford it.
afford 通常與can/could/be able to 等連用意思是“有足夠的（金錢(qián)，時(shí)間）做……”多用于否定句和疑問(wèn)句。
Eg: 1). We can not afford (to buy) a new car.
2).This house is so expensive that I can’t afford it.
3.That’s a very low price for such a great product!
price意為“價(jià)格，價(jià)錢(qián)”，at a very low price意為
“以很低的價(jià)格”。表示價(jià)格的高低要用high或low,不能用cheap或expensive。
eg: 1). He bought a bike at a very low price.
2).The price of houses is high at present.
3).This house is expensive at present.
4).This kind of books is too cheap.
