as…as…意為“和……一樣……”,用于同級(jí)之間的比較。其基本結(jié)構(gòu)為:as+形容詞或者副詞的原級(jí)+as。
I gave him as much as he could eat.
他能吃多少,我就給了他多少。
【拓展】(1)as…as…的否定形式為“not as/so+形容詞或者副詞的原級(jí)+as…”,表示“不如……,比不上……”。
(2)as…as…結(jié)構(gòu)中可以使用以下修飾詞(組):just,exactly,not quite,half,
twice等,并且這些修飾詞(組)必須置于第一個(gè)as之前,而不能置于其后。

until意為“直到……為止”,引導(dǎo)時(shí)間狀語(yǔ)從句。until用于肯定句時(shí),主句的動(dòng)作必須是延續(xù)性的,表示這一動(dòng)作或狀態(tài)一直延續(xù)到until所表示的時(shí)間為止;用于否定句時(shí),主句的動(dòng)作一般是非延續(xù)性動(dòng)詞,強(qiáng)調(diào)表示動(dòng)作或者狀態(tài)直到until所表示的時(shí)間才發(fā)生,構(gòu)成not…until…結(jié)構(gòu),表示“直到……才……”。如果主句使用一般將來(lái)時(shí)態(tài),則從句必須用一般現(xiàn)在時(shí)態(tài)表示將來(lái)。
The bus won’t start until everyone gets on.直到每個(gè)人都上車(chē),公共汽車(chē)才會(huì)開(kāi)動(dòng)。
【拓展】till 是連詞,意思是“直到……之時(shí);在……之前”,通常用來(lái)表示時(shí)間,相當(dāng)于until,只是語(yǔ)氣較弱。
