1.I’m doing some research for my report about my favourite season.
research用作名詞,意為“研究;調(diào)查”。
He makes research on Chinese medicine.
他從事中醫(yī)研究。
research的用法:
(1)research可與不定冠詞連用,也可以用復(fù)數(shù)形式,但通常不與many或數(shù)字連用。
Here is the market research report.
(2)research后常跟介詞on,into或for。
She is doing some research on vegetables.
2.Start your day on the ski hills or go ice skating.
ice 用作名詞,意為“冰”。
There is some ice on the window.
Please put a piece of ice on the fish.
ice當(dāng)“ 冰 ”講時,是不可數(shù)名詞,表示“一/數(shù)塊冰”常用a piece/pieces of ice。
I put a piece of ice in the juice.
【辨析】mountain,hill
(1)mountain 的意思是“山”,其復(fù)數(shù)形式mountains 常表示 “山脈”,通常指比hill 大或陡峭的高山。
It’s the highest mountain in the world.它是世界上最高的山。
(2)hill 的意思是“小山”,通常指比 mountain 小的山。
They are climbing the hill.他們正在爬山。
The house stands on the top of the hill.房子位于山頂上。

get…together意為“把……聚在一起”;get together意為“聚在一起”。
We often get together to study.
