There be 是英語中常用句型， 表示“有”
(1)當(dāng)be后所接的名詞是單數(shù)可數(shù)名詞或不可數(shù)名詞時，be 應(yīng)該取單數(shù)is；當(dāng)其后所接的名詞是復(fù)數(shù)的可數(shù)名詞時，be用復(fù)數(shù)are.
eg: There is some apple juice in the bottle.
There are some strangers in the street.
(2)如果There be 后面是幾個并列名詞做主語時，動詞be的形式和最靠近它的那個名詞保持?jǐn)?shù)的一致。[就近原則]
eg: There is an ashtray and two bottles on the shelf.
There are two bottles and an ashtray on the shelf.
(3)如果主語是復(fù)數(shù)名詞，卻表示一筆金額或一個總數(shù)或表達(dá)一個單個概念時，則仍用單數(shù)形式。
eg: There is five hundred dollars to pay.
