I. 用法:
1. 形容詞性物主代詞用來修飾名詞,起形容詞的作用,不能單獨使用。 如:
My parents are both teachers.
我的父母都是老師。
2. 名詞性物主代詞可以單獨使用,相當(dāng)于“形容詞性物主代詞+名詞”,后面不跟名詞。如:
May I use your ruler? I have lost mine.
=May I use your ruler? I have lost my ruler.
另外,名詞性物主代詞還可以用在“n. + of + 名詞性物主代詞”結(jié)構(gòu)中,表示“某人的 …”。如:
The shoes of hers are very nice.
她的鞋子很漂亮。
II. 所作成分:
1. 形容詞性物主代詞只能作定語。如:
There is something wrong with his computer.
他的電腦出問題了!
They love their work in the shop.
他們喜歡在商店的工作。
2. 名詞性物主代詞可以作主語、賓語和表語。如:
Your book is interesting, but mine is more interesting.(作主語)
你的書很有趣,但是我的更有趣。
These letters are his.(作表語)
這些是他的信。
I lost my pen this morning. May I borrow yours?(作賓語)
我今天早晨丟了我的鋼筆,我能借用一下你的嗎?
