Revision: when vs. while
這兩個詞都有“當(dāng)…的時候”的意思。
when 既可指某一點時間, 也可以指一段時間;
while 強調(diào)一段時間, 所以從句的謂語動詞常是延續(xù)性的。
當(dāng) when表示“在某一段時間里” 的意思時, 它可以代替
while, 但while不能代替when.
e.g. When I came home, she was cooking dinner.
當(dāng)我到家時, 她正在做飯。
When you hang wet clothes near a fire, you will see
steam rising from them.
