1:What does she look like?

She is tall and thin. She has long straight brown hair. She has big eyes. She wears a blue dress. She is a girl in black shoes.

2:What is she like?

She is shy and friendly.

3:What does she like ?

She likes eating bananas.

4:What can she do well?

She can play the piano well.

Practice the conversation in the picture above. Then make conversations about the other twins.

A: That’s Tara, isn’t it?

B: No, it isn’t. It’s Tina. Tina is taller than Tara. 

And she also sings more loudly than Tara.

Language points 

1. Both Tom and Sam can play the drums, but Sam plays them better than Tom.

1) both“兩個(gè)、兩者都……”, 在句中可作代詞、形容詞、副詞、連詞。作副詞時(shí)常放在be動(dòng)詞之后, 實(shí)義動(dòng)詞之前。

e.g. Both (of) his parents are doctors. (作代詞或形容詞)

=His parents are both doctors. (作副詞)

They both went camping in the holiday. (作副詞)

Both English and math are very important. 

(both …and…短語常連接兩個(gè)并列的成分, 可連接名詞、動(dòng)詞、形容詞和代詞等) 

注: both指兩者都, all指三者或三者以上都。

2. That’s Tara, isn’t it?

附加疑問句:陳述句后添加一個(gè)附著的簡略疑問結(jié)構(gòu),用以進(jìn)行確認(rèn)。

⑴ 若陳述部分為肯定,便用否定形式進(jìn)行提問;

⑵ 若陳述部分為否定,便用肯定形式進(jìn)行提問。

即  前肯后否,前否后肯

► There’s someone in the room, isn’t there?

房間里有人,是吧?

► He didn’t say anything at the meeting, did he?

他在會(huì)上什么也沒說,對嗎?

► We can’t say it this way, can we?

我們不能這樣說,對不對?
