此句型用于對年齡的提問。其答語用“主語＋be＋數(shù)詞[＋year(s) old]”。
eg：—How old is he？他多大了？
—He is eight years old.他八歲了。
提問年齡也可用“What's...age？”，要注意在一些西方國家，年齡屬于個人隱私，問別人年齡是不禮貌的，尤其是問女性。
