一、比較事物的數(shù)量
1. 兩者比較數(shù)量：more. . . than, less. . . than和fewer. . . than用來比較兩者之間的數(shù)量關(guān)系。
其中more. . . than之間加可數(shù)名詞的復(fù)數(shù)形式或者不可數(shù)名詞，less. . . than之間加不可數(shù)名詞，fewer. . . than之間加可數(shù)名詞的復(fù)數(shù)形式。
eg：Tony has more friends than Jim.
托尼的朋友比吉姆的多。
He eats less food than I for breakfast.
他早飯比我吃得少。
Simon has fewer oranges than Nancy.
西蒙的橙子比南希的少。
2. 三者或三者以上比較數(shù)量：the most，the fewest，the least用來比較三者或三者以上之間的數(shù)量關(guān)系。
the most, the fewest, the least分別是many/much, few, little的最高級。the most表示“最……；最多的”，后既可接可數(shù)名詞復(fù)數(shù)，也可接不可數(shù)名詞
the fewest表示“最少”，后接可數(shù)名詞的復(fù)數(shù)形式；the least表示“最少”，后接不可數(shù)名詞。
eg：Kitty gets the most points of the three girls.
三個(gè)女孩中，凱蒂的得分是最高的。
He has the least water.
他的水是最少的。
Which of them has made the fewest mistakes?
他們中的哪一位的錯(cuò)誤最少？
二、副詞的比較級和最高級
1. 副詞的比較級和最高級的構(gòu)成
(1) 單音節(jié)詞大多在詞尾加er或est，以e結(jié)尾的詞在詞尾 加r或st；多音節(jié)詞和部分雙音節(jié)詞在其前加more構(gòu)成比較級，加most構(gòu)成最高級。
★soon→ sooner→ soonest
★late→ later→ latest
★quickly→ more quickly→ most quickly
(2) 一些副詞的比較級和最高級是不規(guī)則變化。
★well—better—best
★badly—worse—worst
★little—less—least
★far—farther/further—farthest/furthest
2. 副詞的比較級的用法
(1) 副詞的比較級＋than
eg：Can you do better than that?
你能不能做得比那個(gè)好一些？
He studied the subject further than I did.
這個(gè)課題他研究得比我深。
(2) more and more越來越……
eg：It rained more and more heavily.
雨下得越來越大了。
(3) the more. . . ，the more. . . 越……，就越……
eg：The more I work, the more I learn.
我干得越多，學(xué)的(東西)就越多。
3. 副詞的最高級的用法
副詞的最高級通常用于一定的比較范圍，如含有介詞in，of或among構(gòu)成的介詞短語。副詞的最高級前的定冠詞the 可以省略。
eg：He who laughs last laughs best.
笑到最后笑得最好。
Of the four of us, I sang(the )worst.
我們四個(gè)人中我唱得最差。
