1.What's your favorite subject?你最喜歡的學(xué)科是什么？（教材第49頁）
（1）What's your favorite...?意為“你最喜歡的……是什么?”，是英語中用來詢問對方喜歡的事物的常用句型。
—What's your favorite color?
—White.
（2）favorite(like...best) 此處用作形容詞，意為“特別喜愛的”，通常用作定語修飾名詞，其前常用形容詞性物主代詞或名詞所有格修飾。
Tom's favorite subject is English.=Tom likes English best.
2.P.E.體育
P.E.作名詞，是physical education的縮寫形式。
【拓展】學(xué)科名詞作主語時，謂語動詞用單數(shù)形式。
P.E. is very interesting.

（1）why是疑問副詞，意為“為什么”，詢問原因。常用來引導(dǎo)特殊疑問句，其答語常用“Because+句子.”。

（2）because作連詞，意為“因為”，其后跟句子，陳述原因或理由，常用于回答why引導(dǎo)的疑問句。
—Why is he not here?
—Because he is ill.
