How many apples are there on the tree?

樹(shù)上有多少個(gè)蘋果?

這是一個(gè)“how”引導(dǎo)的特殊疑問(wèn)句。“How many”主要對(duì)可數(shù)名詞的數(shù)量進(jìn)行提問(wèn)。

“on the tree”在樹(shù)上。因?yàn)樘O果是長(zhǎng)在大樹(shù)上,所以我們這里介詞不能用“in”。

答句可以用“There are/is+具體數(shù)量。”或者直接“數(shù)量。”如:“Seven。”

— How many cats are there on the street?

— Only one.

盡管這里答句的數(shù)量為僅有一個(gè),但我們?cè)趩?wèn)句中還是要假設(shè)為復(fù)數(shù)。一般how many后面的名詞一定跟復(fù)數(shù)。
