1. progress /'prəʊɡres/ n. 進步
eg: Making more progress will be very difficult for him.
取得更大進步對于他來說將會很難。
progress為不可數(shù)名詞,其前不能用冠詞a修飾,也沒有復數(shù)形式,其前常用great, good, much等詞修飾。常見短語:make progress (in...)“(在……方面)取得進步”。
eg: I will make progress in English this year.
今年我將在英語方面取得進步。
2. achieve /ə'tʃiːv/ v. 成功;實現(xiàn);完成
eg: He has achieved only half what he hoped to do.
他只完成了他原來所希望完成的一半。
