Giant Panda 大熊貓
The giant panda is a bear native to centralwestern and south western China. It is easily recognized by its large, distinctive black patches (斑點) around its eyes, over the ears, and across its round body.
大熊貓是原產于中國中西部和西南部的熊科動物。熊貓很容易辨認出來，眼睛、耳朵和身體有大塊的黑色毛皮。
Diet 食物
Though it belongs to the order Carnivora, the giant panda's diet is over 99% bamboo. Giant pandas in the wild will occasionally eat other grass, wild tubers (塊莖), or even meat in the form of birds, rodents or carrion.
盡管大熊貓屬于食肉目，但是大熊貓99%的食物是竹子。野生大熊貓有時也吃草、塊莖，甚至也吃鳥類、嚙齒動物或腐肉。
Conservation 保護
The giant panda is among the world's most adored and protected rare animals, and is one of the few in the world whose natural inhabitant status was able to gain a UNESCO World Heritage Site designation (指定).
大熊貓是世界最受歡迎的稀有保護動物，是世界上少數棲息地被聯合國教科文組織列為世界遺產名錄的動物。
