be able to“能；能夠” 類似于情態(tài)動(dòng)詞can“能；會(huì)”，但是be able to可以有各種時(shí)態(tài)的變化，而can只有一般現(xiàn)在時(shí)和一般過去時(shí)兩種時(shí)態(tài)。
eg. She can swim.
eg. I could help you last night,but you didn't come.
eg. He is/was/will be able to help you.
2.Boats have been around for thousands of years.
①be around “出現(xiàn)；存在”
eg.Telephones have been around for many years.
② hundred(百)、thousand(千)、million(百萬)、billion(十億)等詞，前面有具體的數(shù)字時(shí)，其本身用單數(shù)形式；但是當(dāng)其后接of，用來表示概數(shù)時(shí)，這些詞要用復(fù)數(shù)形式。

make 作使役動(dòng)詞表示“使、讓”時(shí)，常有以下用法：
make sb/sth + adj 使某人/某物怎么樣
make sb/sth + n 使某人/某物成為......
make sb do sth 使/讓某人做某事
