1. First, connect the monitor to the computer.
首先，連接顯示器與主機。
connect“連接，把……聯(lián)系起來”。
connect +名詞/代詞 +( with/to)
eg: The railway line connects Wuhan and Shanghai.
這條鐵路線連接武漢和上海。

(打電話用語)請給我接北京大學。
2. switch on 打開
意思是“打開或接通電源”。其反義詞為switch off “關閉”，與turn on （打開）；turn off (關閉)意思相同。

然后，用鼠標點擊“新文件”。
① 這是一個祈使句，使用了并列連詞and 并列use 和click。也可以不用and, 改為動詞不定式來表達。即：use the mouse to click “new document”.
② 介詞with有“使用，用……工具”之意，該句也可以用介詞with 來改寫。So, click “new document” with the mouse.
