fall down，fall off和fall over都表示“摔倒、跌倒”的意思，但它們各自的含義不同。
1.fall over強(qiáng)調(diào)的是“向前摔倒、跌倒”。
She fell over and broke her leg.
她跌倒并把腿摔斷了。
2.fall down強(qiáng)調(diào)的是“滑倒、倒下”，后接賓語(yǔ)時(shí)應(yīng)加上介詞 from。
If people run across the road，they may fall down.
如果人們跑過(guò)馬路的話，他們可能會(huì)摔倒。
3. fall off強(qiáng)調(diào)的是“跌落、從……掉下來(lái)”，后直接接賓語(yǔ)。
The girl is falling off the bike.
