Language points
1.Hey, Helen, let’s go! 嗨,海倫,(讓)我們走吧!
let’s是let us 的縮寫,let 表示“讓……”在其后加上“人”及“所做的事”,表示“讓某人做某事”。英語口語中以Let’s…開頭的句子很常見,本單元中還有 Let’s play./ Let’s ask./ Let’s play computer games.等句子。
另外, let 后面的us 還可以換用其他人稱,如:
Let me get it. 讓我(去)拿(它)。(我去拿。)
Please let your little brother play. 讓你的小弟弟玩玩。
2.We are late! 我們遲到了。
be late譯為“遲到”,一般其后跟介詞“for”表示“做某事遲到”。
be late for = come late to 遲到
比如:
be late for class 上課遲到
be late for meeting 開會遲到
3. Do you have the baseball?
這是一個由助動詞“ do” 引導(dǎo)的一般疑問句;卮鹩“Yes, I do/ No, I don’t. 其中“have” 為實(shí)義動詞,譯為“有”。
比如:你有棒球嗎? 是的,我有。
—Do you have a baseball?
—Yes, I do.
